簡介

在美國貧困的阿帕拉契地區，社會、文化和經濟環境與高發病率和高死亡率有關。儘管許多歷史性研究提示，包括價值觀和信仰在內的阿帕拉契文化的一些方面（如宿命論、父權制）可能使阿帕拉契人處於健康不佳的風險，而其他方面則可能會保護他們的健康（如緊密的社會關係）。但幾乎還沒有研究定性探究過地區文化問題。本研究的目的是研究可能與阿帕拉契地區健康和疾病相關的社會和文化因素。
方法
