Satellite Broadcast on Women
with Cervicitis and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
Caring for Women: Management and Prevention of Cervicitis and
Pelvic
Inflammatory Disease, a live interactive satellite broadcast, will
be
presented to sites nationwide Wednesday, October 7, 1998, from
12:30 p.m.
to 3 p.m. eastern standard time. Cosponsors are CDC and the New
England and
Seattle Sexually Transmitted Disease/ Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Prevention and Training Centers. This program is designed for
physicians,
nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, physician assistants, and
registered
nurses who provide care for women.
The program will address the etiology, diagnosis, and
management of
cervicitis; choice of appropriate laboratory work up, treatment,
and
follow-up of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); role of new
diagnostic
technologies in detecting Chlamydia trachomatis in the management
of
cervicitis and PID; and identification of screening strategies in
preventing cervicitis and PID.
