To address the rapidly changing character of tuberculosis (TB)
and the recent outbreaks of multidrug-resistant TB, CDC is
sponsoring a meeting on the subject January 22-23, 1992. The theme
of the meeting is ``The Challenge of Multidrug-Resistant
Tuberculosis,'' and will be held at CDC; additional information is
available from CDC's Surveillance and Epidemiologic Investigations
Branch, Division of Tuberculosis Elimination, National Center for
