Federal Register Notice: World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program Reorganization
Updated March 8, 2024
On March 7, 2024, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) published a Federal Register Notice to provide public notification about the reorganization of its World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program. The WTC Health Program is administered by NIOSH.
NIOSH’s WTC Health Program administers Program policy and covers the cost while the Clinical Centers of Excellence (CCE) and the Nationwide Provider Network (NPN) provide medical monitoring and treatment. This reorganization does not change services provided or change where members receive their care.
Through this reorganization, NIOSH’s WTC Health Program is being organized into an Office of the Division Director and three branches. The three branches are:
* Healthcare Benefits Branch
* Research and Evaluation Branch
* Business Operations Branch
This reorganization accounts for the Program’s significant staffing increases since it was established in 2011. It also addresses the potential for future growth necessary to continue service improvements and to fulfill the Program’s vital mission to provide quality, compassionate healthcare to eligible 9/11 responders and survivors through 2090. In addition, this reorganization streamlines operational processes to bring more efficient services to our members.
Further information on this reorganization is available in the Federal Register Notice .
You can use this online feedback form to share your comments or concerns with the Program directly. A response will be provided within 3-5 business days.
