Partnerships
At a glance
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is dedicated to fostering partnerships to advance data for public health action across the public health ecosystem. The public health ecosystem includes federal partners, the public, providers, CDC, national public health partners, healthcare systems, and state, tribal, local and territorial jurisdictions (STLTs).
Informed, Engaged, Empowered Partners
Strengthening strategic partnerships is essential to improving the availability and use of public health data. CDC is connecting public health at all levels, and partners from all sectors. We keep partners informed, engaged, and empowered because partners are essential if we are to advance data for public health action.
We count on the knowledge and experience of our partners to identify challenges and potential solutions. Together, we are building the nation's robust early warning systems, ability to detect threats promptly, and capabilities for real time monitoring.
We are taking a coordinated "one public health" approach to making our processes smoother and technology more integrated and flexible. CDC is ensuring that every part of the public health ecosystem is advancing towards the future.
Collaborating with partners is essential to meet the goals of the Public Health Data Strategy (PHDS). Partnership outreach in support of the PHDS includes funding and technical assistance, communications and engagement, and capacity building.
We are leveraging innovative approaches, like principles of iterative development and human-centered design, to understand partners' problems and preferences.
CDC is providing support for data modernization in STLTs. We are connecting public health to health IT, reducing silos of data, outdated technology and lagging skills. We are working in coordination to advance data for public health action. Together, we are amplifying the nation's ability to respond to public health challenges and achieve better health outcomes for all.
The work we do depends on input from everyone. Join us in this vital mission!
