CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) supports Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) import of certain healthcare-associated infection (HAI) data. Please visit the NHSN CDA Submission Support Portal for the implementation guide, toolkits, training videos, and other resources.
Notifiable Disease Case Notification
Please visit the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS) Technical Resource Center at https://www.cdc.gov/nndss/trc/index.html. There, you can access finalized NNDSS HL7®Message Mapping Guides (MMGs), HL7®MMGs in development, MMG-related artifacts, and an archive of historical documentation.
Syndromic Surveillance
CDC, in collaboration with the International Society for Disease Surveillance, has developed and published syndromic surveillance messaging guides. These guides support Promoting Interoperability programs that employ health information technology to improve the quality and value of American healthcare.
